Vintage Treasures

All these pieces of mink were being crafted by someone into brooches and hairpieces.  Found in box was the mink collar fastened to large grosgrain ribbon. Genuine mink leather.  Thought I might finish them and put them on my http://southerntouches.etsy.com/. shop to see who might be interested in these adorable creations.  There is enough mink to continue making about 10-15 brooches and pins.

Let me know what everyone thinks about this project. I can't just let this find waist away.

Home Displays

Two unused oval glass pieces were leftover from another project and the wood stand is one of many that was found in a box I purchased.  The buttons are all mother of pearl and some date back to 1940. Cut burlap and glued everthing together. They slide easily into the wooden stand. Makes a good display for a desk or table.

A friend at church calls this design of plates and glass hobby/nobbies.  Dug one out of my shed and purchased these moss look rocks for a great centerpiece.   Outstanding for the spring and summer look anywhere in your home.

Spring in the Garden

Snapping up some pics with my new camera while walking around on Saturday in the yard. Repotting some ferns and planting some flowers I had just purchased for the spring.

This time of year with the cool mornings and warm days everything comes to life.  Filled up the hummingbird feeder and now waiting for them to come home.

Iris, dogwood, blueberry, verbena, azaela all starting to share their glory now.

Undone to Repurposed

Shopping for glass and trinkets are one of my passions.  I can walk around with a piece of glass for awhile trying to find just the right trinket to go with it.  Sometime I just buy and take the glass home for a later matching session.

My vintage rolltop desk and my fireplace now have a good collection of finds and matches.

The bottom framed vintage doily is now for sale on http://dogwoodflowerdesigns.etsy.com/.  It stands out nicely on a white wall.
